Gambling Book Reviews: Casino Slots

The five highly recommended gambling book reviews are The Slot Machine Answer Book, by John Grochowski; Break the One-Armed Bandits, by Frank Scoblete; How to Win Millions Playing Slot Machines...or Lose Trying, by Frank Legato; Slot Smarts: Winning Strategies at the Slot Machines, by Claude Halcombe; and Secrets of Modern Slot Playing, by Larry Mak. All five authors are well-known and respected.

The Slot Machine Answer Book by John Grochowski is almost 170 easy-to-read pages long. If you have ever wondered what machines are most likely to pay off, if there is a way to gain an advantage over slot machines, or if playing video slots is better than playing reel slots, this book is for you. Overall, the reader reviews on it have been excellent, although some headier strategists may not be satisfied.

Break The One-Armed Bandits by Frank Scoblete. Every slots player should read this book. One of the all-time best selling gambling books, the insider information is no joke. In a sharp and entertaining way, Scoblete shares secrets that most gamblers only suspected were true. In addition, Scoblete shares his personal observations garnered from years of experience and success in the casino. He also explains the differences between pertinent machines, debunks slot superstitions, explains the role of the IRS, warns players how to spot slot scams and gimmicks, and teaches how to stretch out the House Edge.

How to Win Millions Playing Slot Machines...or Lose Trying by Frank Legato. Don't confuse this as being a book by Frank Scoblete, for he just writes the foreword. The content of this book covers many topics, which include slot machine operations, myths and facts about slot machines and playing them, specific advice on which machines to play, how to maximize winnings by cutting down the House Edge, in depth strategies on money management and progressive jackpot betting, as well as how to spot scams, shady slot machine promotions and rigged machines. Find the best places to play slot machines in the U.S. and learn how to maximize your winnings!

Slot Smarts: Winning Strategies at the Slot Machines by Claude Halcombe. The contents of this book includes information about which casinos and slot machines are the best to play, using tools to distinguish between slot machines that look similar but deliver different chances of winning, and a series of what Halcombe calls "Work Plans." Of all the top-selling slot machine strategy books on the market, this one probably is the most heady and complex.

Secrets of Modern Slot Playing by Larry Mak. Secrets of Modern Slots Playing dispels many slot machine myths, including notions of luck and betting streaks, in addition to the technical facts about slots. Always backed by empirical evidence, this book is one of the most practical resources for maximizing returns at the slot machines. The nectar of this book, however, is the section on playing strategies. Five strategies total are suggested, which include a betting guide for 1cent/2cent multi-line video slots, 5cent multi-line video slots, the spinning reel nickel slot machine, spinning reel quarter machine, and the spinning reel dollar slot.
